Richard Alan Fox, 60, of Woodward was arrested on a charge of first-offense OWI after allegedly being involved in a hit-and-run accident in Woodward.

A Woodward man was arrested for drunk driving about 5:15 p.m. Friday after allegedly colliding with another vehicle at First and Main streets in Woodward and driving away from the scene of the accident.

Richard Alan Fox, 60, of Woodward was arrested on a charge of first-offense OWI.

The incident began when a pedestrian reported to an officer of the Woodward Police Department that a hit-and-run accident just occurred at First and Main streets.

There were no injuries reported in the collision.

Woodward Police Department Chief Joseph Cox said the officer soon located the suspect vehicle and initiated a traffic stop in the 100 block of Ninth Street.

Cox said Fox showed signs of intoxication. A PBT test registered Fox’s breath alcohol content at .20, which is above the legal limit for operating a motor vehicle.

Fox is held in the Dallas County Jail in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court Saturday morning.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
