Friends, family, wellwishers and clients joined Woodward realtor Wayde Burkhart Saturday afternoon for an open house at the Trestle Inn in Woodward.

“This is just a thank you to both my older and newer clients for all the business,” Burkhart said. “We wanted to express our appreciation to them for the confidence they’ve shown in me as a full-time realtor in the area.”

Burkhart has seen success in his three years as a realtor. He saw a 40 percent increase in business over the last year and said he hopes to double his business this year both in number of sales and in dollar volume. He mostly handles residential properties but plans to take on more commercial property in the area this year.

The Woodward native and his wife, Julie, have been married 28 years. Their son, Mason, is a junior at Simpson College in Indianola, and their daughter, Mallory, is a junior at Woodward-Granger High School.

“I have to thank my family and friends for their support in my business,” Burkhart said between bites of a cookie, while his guests munched on turkey wraps and shrimp. “I cannot do this alone and be successful. I love helping clients find the homes that meet their needs.”
