The Woodward Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire at the home of Paul Thompson, a member of the Woodward City Council and president of the Woodward Lions Club.

The burning shed was close to the Thompson residence, but the prompt response by firefighters prevented its spread. Thompson himself battled the blaze with a garden hose.

The Madrid Volunteer Fire Department was paged for mutual aid. Also responding were the Woodward Police Department, Dallas County Sheriff’s office and Dallas County EMS.
