A Woodward man was arrested early Monday after allegedly assaulting a Woodard woman.
Kennedy Timothy Rice Larimer, 19, of 111 S. Main St., Woodward, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness, first-offense possession of a controlled substance-marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding.
The incident began shortly before midnight Sunday at a residence in the 100 block of S. Main Street in Woodward, where Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
The deputies made contact with the female victim, who told the deputies that a “physical altercation” occurred with Larimer that “caused bruising to” the victim’s “right shoulder,” according to court records.
Larimer was afterward stopped while traveling eastbound on Iowa Highway 141 in a 1996 Chrysler Concorde.
In making contact with Larimer, a deputy “could smell a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle,” and a probable-cause search disclosed 8.6 grams of marijuana “in a mason jar in the center console” and “HHC pineapple gummies,” according to court records.
Larimer is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Dec. 18 in Dallas County District Court.
