Work progresses on the Willis Avenue water main replacement project undertaken by the Perry Water Department.

A new fire hydrant assembly pokes up brightly west of the Asgrow building at 235 Willis Avenue, near the westernmost extent of the project at W. 10th Street, and pipe will soon be laid along the south side of Willis Avenue to W. Eighth Street.

The main will cross Willis Avenue at W. Eight Street, proceed along the north side of Willis Avenue to W. Fifth Street and connect to the existing distribution system near the Frog Creek Bridge.

The Perry Water Works Trustees approved the $475,000 job in May. The project also includes extending a new water main along Diagonal Road southward from Willis Avenue.
