The St. Patrick's Knights of Columbus will host their Youth Soccer Challenge Saturday from 1-3 p.m., held annually in conjunction with the ¡Viva Perry! Latino Festival.

The Perry Knights of Columbus held their annual Youth Soccer Challenge Saturday just south of St. Patrick’s church.

Youth were tested on their accuracy in kicking penalty shots toward an open goal. Awards were given for the highest finishers in each age group, 9-13, for both boys and girls. The Knights provided free popsicles to help beat the heat, with two new soccer balls given away in a drawing held at the end of the competition.

Girls winners included Katleyn Saldana and Martha Turrado, in the 14 and 11 year old categories, respectively, with Carly Herrera second and Beyonce Gonzalez third in the 14-year old division.

Jordan Orellana won the boys age 9 group, with Aaron Calderon second and Cristobal Turrado third while Cruz Calderon was first and Jesus Zamora second in the 10-year old section. Abraham Ruiz was the 11-year old winner, with Deshaun Salcedo, Carlos Alarcon and Kevin Guevera placing 1-2-3 in the 12-year old group while Ben Ramirez, Ardadi Adum and Jordan Ochoa claimed the top three spots among 13-year old contestants.
