A special meeting of the 100+ People for Perry donors club is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. at LaPoste, 1219 warford St. in Perry. The social hour begins at 6:30 p.m.

The 100+ People for Perry group is celebrating two years of charitable funding for local projects in the Perry area, with gifts to eight local projects amounting to $52,500.

The group, which is always open to new members, will review and assess their progress and plan their future. The mission of 100+ People for Perry “is to invest in Perry’s future through supporting current charities/non-profits/worthy projects which advance the quality of life,” according to the group’s statement.

The group makes one large donation quarterly, with each gift staying 100 percent in the community. No national charities are considered but only local projects. Each recipient of funding must be a 501 (c)(3) or sponsored by a 501 (c)(3), be project based and be of benefit to the Perry community.

Anyone interested in joining 100+ People for Perry is welcome to attend the meeting. For more information, contact Mark Powell  at 515-465-4641 or mpowell@fdplawfirm.com, Tom Lipovac at Tom.Lipovac@perry.k12.ia.us or Linda Kaufman at kaufmanlinda1948@gmail.com.
