Paved roads still treacherous in Perry area; gravel unplowed

The winter weather advisory issued Saturday by the National Weather Service (NWS) office in Des Moines expired at 9 p.m. Sunday, but road condition remain treacherous in the Perry area.

The Iowa Department of Transportation has classified U.S. Hghway 169 and Iowa Highway 141 and Iowa Highway 44 as 100 percent snow and ice covered and said travel is not advised.

The Dallas County Secondary Roads Department is currently concentrating its snow-clearing efforts on paved county roads. Plowing of gravel roads will begin Monday at 10 a.m., according to a county spokesperson.
