The Jayette AAU volleyball team recently completed a strong season which revealed plenty of promise for the program going forward.
Composed of players in grades seven and eight, the team competed in tournaments where the opposition was composed of eighth-grade squads.
On Feb. 16 Perry visited a tourney in Adel, where the Jayettes won their pool, in which ADM, Nevada and Winterset were included. Perry finished third in their bracket.
The Jayettes played in Ankeny March 2, placing third in their pool and ninth in their bracket. Ankeny Centennial, Ames, DC-G and GMG (Green Mountain-Garwin) were the other squads in Perry’s pool.
The team included Taylor Atwell, Kaylee Brock, Ashley Cerna, Anh Doan, Addison Huntington, Yamilet Ortega, Callie Steva, Maci Tunink, Zoey Vail and Kathryn West.
