Yesterday evening the Perry Police Department received a report of a possible threat involving the Perry Middle School. Officers investigated the report and found that it was a non-credible threat.

Thanks to the information relayed to Police Department from a concerned citizen, we were able to successfully resolve initial concerns.

In an effort to maintain the safety of our children, schools and community, please keep these tips in mind.

    • Keep an open line of communication with your kids so they can express safety concerns to you.
    • Monitor their social media accounts in an effort to discover future potential problems.
    • Discuss with them what to do in event an incident occurs.

Call or meet with the School Resource Officer, Police Department, school administration or staff with your questions, concerns or information you may discover that you feel affects the safety of our students.
