A Waukee man and two juvenile males were arrested shortly before midnight Sunday, Aug. 4 after they discharged eight to 10 rounds from a firearm into a house in the 500 block of S.E. Westwoods Drive in Waukee.
Abdirahman Ibrahim Hassan, 18, of Waukee and two 17-year-old juvenile males were arrested and booked into the Dallas County Jail on charges of attempted murder.
“Upon investigation, it was found that a residence was shot approximately 8 to 10 times,” said Waukee Police Department Lt. Jeremy Long. “The residence was targeted based on a physical altercation that took place earlier in the evening between a juvenile resident there and one of the juvenile suspects.”
Long said the case remains under investigation.
“We’ve got some more leads to follow up,” he said. “Obviously, we want to learn more about what this altercation earlier in the night was.”
“At least nobody got hurt,” Long said. “That’s the silver lining.”
Hassan and the juveniles are each held in the Dallas County Jail on a $25,000 cash or surety bond. They are scheduled to make initial appearances in Dallas County District Court later today.
