Health issues have caused a postponement of the 90th birthday party for Don Strassburg of Perry that was set for Saturday, Sept. 28.
“Don has had a sudden change of condition and was admitted to the VA hospital,” an organizer of the event told ThePerryNews.com Thursday. “He has opted not to treat and was moved to the Community Living Center next to the main entrance of the VA. He is open to visitors and calls.”
Strassburg owned and operated Don’s Shoes on Second Street in downtown Perry for many years, and he remains an active and popular figure around town.
