September 24, 2019

  • The Greene County Elementary School requested an officer at 401 E. Russell St. for a theft complaint. A 9-year-old male student stole items from the book fair. The student took items  worth $5 without paying for them. An officer sent the Juvenile Court a charge of fifth-degree theft for the juvenile.
  • A caller requested a welfare check on domestic rabbits in an outdoor cage at 503 S. Cedar St. An officer spoke to the resident and was allowed to view the animals. The animals were in good condition, and clean water and food were present. The officer advised the owner that the manure generated by the animals needed to be removed from the property and said he would check back in a few days to ensure the issue was taken care of.
  • Officers were sent to the Jefferson City Hall at 220 N. Chestnut St. for an unruly customer. The male left before the arrival of officers but was contacted by phone and advised he was no longer welcome in the public building.
  • Ryan Patterson spoke to an officer about a possible harassment issue.
  • Patrick Coil reported criminal mischief occurred at 802 W. State St. Three tires on two different vehicles were punctured. An officer estimated the replacement cost of the three tires at $300. It is unknown when the damage occurred.
  • Daniel Scheffers reported a careless driver near Lincoln Way and Elm Street. Scheffers reported a young male driver pulled into the fuel station at 303 N. Elm St. An officer spoke to a juvenile male at the reported address, who said Scheffers had approached him about his driving, but denied he was driving in a careless matter.
  • Nicole Borkowski reported a male was at her friend’s residence and yelling at them. An officer drove to 205 N. Locus St. and spoke to the resident, who said Ryan Patterson had been there screaming at him but had left. The resident asked the officer to contact Patterson and direct him not to return to his residence. The officer did so.

September 25, 2019

  • An officer responded to 803 W. Adams St. for a verbal argument between a male and a female.
  • An officer received a report of a suspicious male walking the around the square.
  • Officers responded to a retail store at 606 U.S. Highway 30 E. for a male that was loitering for three weeks. An officer removed him from the property.
  • Walter Ramaekers spoke with an officer about an electronic fraud issue.
  • Nic Long spoke with an officer about window tint on his vehicle. The officer educated him on the state laws regarding window tint.
  • An anonymous caller reported a driving complaint on S. Elm Street traveling northbound. An officer located the vehicle and spoke with the driver about his driving habits.
  • Curt Hastings reported a trespassing complaint at 500 N. Vine St.
  • Staff at a retail store at 606 U.S. Highway 30 E. spoke with an officer about drug paraphernalia located in the parking lot of the business.
  • An officer responded to 208 W. Lincoln Way for a suspicious male.
  • An officer escorted a male from the 200 block of W. Madison Street to the Greene County Medical Center emergency room to be evaluated by a medial doctor.
  • Tiffany Johnson reported an assault in the 300 block of N. Wilson Avenue. An officer is investigating.
  • Duane Forkner requested extra patrol in the 400 block of W. Lincoln Way because he just poured a concrete sidewalk.
  • Jennifer Schiltz reported a trespassing complaint at the Greene County Fairgrounds at 601 E. Lincoln Way. An officer escorted Ryan Murphy and Jasmine Fluker off the property.
  • Nicole Semke reported an assault that took placed at Russell Park at 401 S. Wilson Ave. An officer is investigating.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
