Memorial Services for M. Eleanore Meier, 82, of Bouton will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8 at St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bouton. Officiating will be Pastor Rick Miller, with Cathy Radebaugh as the organist.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Friday, with the family receiving friends from 5–7 p.m. at Murdock Funeral Home in Perry. A memorial has been established in her name. Online condolences may be left at murdockfuneralhome.net
Eleanore passed away Monday, Aug. 3, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. She was born Oct. 23, 1932, in Perry, the daughter of Merle and Inez (Mohr) Johnson.
She married Russell D. Meier April 20, 1952, at the First United Methodist Church in Perry.
Most of her life was spent living in the Bouton and Perry area. She worked in the post office and was also a telephone operator in her earlier years. Eleanore was also dedicated to her life on the farm. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for many years.
Eleanore is survived by her daughters, Michelle Meier of Minneapolis, Minn., and Holly (Pete) Lester of Ames; one brother, Homer Johnson, of San Diego, Calif.; and grandchildren, Joey Peter Lester and Meredith Meier Larson.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Russell, in 2006; a daughter, Carol, in 1999; and one sister, Lorraine.
