Jefferson Police Report November 5

  • Officers assisted the Greene County Sheriff’s office in delivering a death notification to a Jefferson resident.
  • Judy Thompson advised an officer she was walking her dog Nov. 3 near Adams Street and Grimmell Road. She advised she was approached by a young Boxer breed, and the animal would not leave her dog alone until a possible owner arrived and gathered up the animal. Thompson’s dog was not injured in the event. The officer is looking for the reported animal in order to speak to its owner about the event.
  • The Jefferson Library reported criminal mischief damage to an exterior light. Officers will be providing extra patrol in the area after dark.
  • Marlene Floyd spoke with an officer about unwanted contact on Facebook. The officer showed her how to block the person from access to her account.
  • Teresa Gregerson reported a possible no-contact violation. An officer spoke to the Greene County Attorney and was advised a violation had not occurred.
  • An officer arrested Jason William Sheldahl, 48, of Jefferson on a warrant for violation of pretrial release.
  • Mabel Buchmiller spoke with an officer concerning a Jefferson resident who was trying to add a cell phone to her plan. The officer directed Buchmiller to report the incident to her local authorities because she does not live in Jefferson.
  • An officer was requested at the Greene County Hospital emergency room at 1000 W. Lincoln Way for a male juvenile who claimed he was assaulted at 203 W. Harrison St. The officer is investigating the reported assault.
  • Shelby Wiggins reported stray dogs in the 400 block of N. Olive Street. An officer spoke to an area resident but did not locate the animals.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
