For the third time in two years, voters in Dallas County have rejected plans for a new county jail. Unofficial results show the special-election measure, Proposition A, falling short by nearly 10 percent of the required 60 percent approval rate needed to pass a bond issue.
Unofficial estimates show 5,346 votes were cast, representing about 10 percent of the county’s 51,777 registered voters.
