Panthers conquer host Knights

WOODWARD — Panorama used a steady fourth quarter surge to slowly pull away from Woodward Academy for a 68-61 win in WCAC boys basketball Tuesday.

The teams were tied at 16-all after one frame and 31-all at the half, with Panorama (6-3, 5-2) holding a 49-48 lead entering the final period. Woodward Academy (3-4, 3-4) battled hard, but could not hold off the Panthers, who steadily created a gap on the scoreboard in route to the victory.

Malachi Peasley led Panorama with 22 points, with Michael Allen adding 19 points and Kolby Shackelford 13 points. Six points from Zach Rizzuti, five from Domonic Walker and three from Brice Taylor capped the Panther scoring.

Peasley sank four 3-pointers and Shackelford three, with Walker and Taylor each draining a single trey.

Rizzuti led the team with 12 rebounds, with Allen pulling down seven boards and Peasley five. Peasley and Walker had five assists apiece to lead the Panther distributors.

Panorama returns to action Friday with a visit to West Central Valley.
