
With Saturday’s forecast calling for temperatures pushing 40 degrees, light winds and partly sunny skies, a big crowd is expected for the Perry Chamber of Commerce’s 43rd annual BRR Bike Ride to Rippey.
The annual 24-mile round-trip bike ride from Perry to Rippey will roll on regardless of the weather, attracting riders and their guests from around Iowa and across the U.S.
The BRR Ride is a family-friendly event that includes prizes and entertainment. Registration is $35 until Friday at noon, and day-of-ride registration is $40 and includes the 43rd annual BRR T-shirt and much other swag, plus free sag wagon and support services.
Pre-registered riders and day-of registrants can pick up their materials starting at 7:30 a.m., with the Perry Lions Club offering their annual BRR Breakfast.
MCB Trainer Deb Miller will lead a Zumba warm-up exercise on Willis Avenue at 9:30 a.m., and the riders will roll out promptly at 10 a.m.
A hot chocolate pit stop will fortify riders at the halfway point to Rippey, and a wide variety of warm comforts await riders in Rippey.
After-ride entertainment will be found at various venues around Perry from 2-6 p.m.
