A desire to move near family was one of the key reasons Alan Brasch gave for his recent decision to make an upcoming move to the Phoenix, Arizona area.
Brasch has spent the past two years teaching Physical Education and Health to the students at St. Patrick’s Catholic School in Perry. He has also served as an assistant football and wrestling coach at Perry High School.
The Jesup native and Wartburg College graduate was a popular figure among students at both schools and said he would miss all those he was in contact with.
“Making a move like this is never an easy decision, and a big part of that is what you leave behind,” he said. “I am grateful for the opportunities St. Pats and Perry High School gave me and I am really going to miss the students.”
“It is so unfortunate the school year had to end this way, with the virus and everything involved with it,” Brasch added. “I am so sorry the kids, in all the grades, did not get to have their school year end like it should, and, of course, it is really sad for the seniors.”
Brasch has accepted a P.E./Health teaching position at a Phoenix elementary school. He will be actively searching for a high school football assistant coaching position.
