Perry High School Principal Dan Marburger has revealed that PHS is planning a traditional graduation ceremony June 14 for the Class of 2020.

Full details are not available, and the planning remains a work in progress, but the easing of statewide restrictions in the face on the COVID-19 pandemic has allowed local school districts more leeway in choosing how to proceed with any graduation plans.

Marburger made the announcement at the end of an hour-long Virtual Senior Awards Ceremony, streamed live on Facebook from the Perry Performing Arts Center. Watch ThePerryNews.com for a full list of scholarship and award winners from the PHS Class of 2020.

Baseball and softball will begin practices June 1, with seasons to start June 15. Several restrictions and guidelines are in place, and those are expected to be modified Tuesday. It is likely additional clarification regarding graduation ceremonies will be announced at that time.
