
A Redfield woman was arrested Monday night after allegedly punching her husband in the face.
Melissa May Wiederin, 45, of 812 Bridge St., Redfield, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-injury or mental illness.
The incident began about 10:45 p.m. Monday, when Dallas County Deputy Sheriff’s responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 800 block of Bridge Street in Redfield.
According to court records, the victim told the deupties that he asked Wiederin “several times to leave his room,” but instead Wiederin “punched” the victim “one time under his left eye.”
The deputies observed the victim’s “left eye was red and had a small blood blister” as well as “a small cut in this area that had been bleeding.”
Wiederin was held in the Dallas County Jail before being released on her own recognizance. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Aug. 6 in Dallas County District Court.
