Perry man arrested for domestic abuse assault

Chad Michael Menz, 39, of Perry was arrested Monday on a charge of first-offense domestic abuse assault-injury or mental illness.

A Perry man was arrested Monday afternoon for allegedly pushing and punching his girlfriend.

Chad Michael Menz, 39, of 1420 Evelyn St., Perry, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-injury or mental illness.

The incident began about 4 p.m. Monday when officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 1400 block of Evelyn Street.

According to court records, Menz “was seen by a witness pushing and punching the victim’s upper chest/arm area.”

Menz was held in the Dallas County Jail prior to posting bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing July 28 in Dallas County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
