
MADRID — Thirteen hits helped produce 10 runs as Panorama recorded a 10-1 victory over Madrid in WCAC softball Monday.
The Panthers (3-3) held a 3-1 lead after one inning of play, then swelled their advantage to 9-1 with a six-run fourth inning. A single tally in the seventh set the final and dropped the Tigers of 0-6 overall.
Grace Richey toed the rubber for all seven frames, scattering five hits and four walks. She was touched for a single run and finished with three strikeouts in gaining the win.
Lead-off hitter Shey Storesund was on base four times, producing three hits and being plunked once by a pitch. She drove in two runs and scored twice.
Jaidyn Sellers had a double, a single, two runs and two RBIs with Jazmyn Sellers adding a double, a single, a run and three RBIs as the top three in the order did considerable damage.
Lindsey VanGundy drove in a run, scored once and had two hits, with Grace Webner, Claire Woodworth, Lindy Nelson and Richey also recording hits. Woodworth and Nelson also had walks, with Webner scoring once while Richey had a RBI.
Angel Poldberg scored two runs and Sydney Vogel one, with Zoey Hambleton drawing a base on balls.
Panorama visits East Union Wednesday and Earlham Thursday for a varsity doubleheader.
