Panthers 3-1 after shutout victory over Eagles

SAYDEL — Brice and Drew Taylor combined to hold host Saydel to just three hits as Panorama recorded a 6-0 win in non-conference baseball Tuesday.

Brice Taylor went five innings on the bump, scattering three hits and three walks while striking out five. Drew Taylor tossed two innings of relief, sitting four Eagles down on strikes.

The Panorama offense plated two runs in the second, two in the fourth and two in the seventh to account for the scoring.

Luke South’s two-run double started the scoring. Evan Taylor had a double, a walk and a run, with Drew Taylor providing a single, walk and run while Brice Taylor scored once after reaching on an error, being walked and being hit by a pitch.

Jack Weinkoetz aided the offense with a single, with Austin Block having a single, a stolen base and a run. Dane Kemble walked and scored, and Malachi Peasley scored once after reaching twice with base hits.

The Panthers improved to 3-1 overall with the win while the Eagles fell to 4-5.

Panorama visits Earlham Thursday before hosting Van Meter Friday. Both contests are WCAC games.
