CARROLL — The confines of Merchant Ballpark proved quite friendly for host Carroll Wednesday, as the Tigers turned nine hits and five Perry errors into a 13-1 win over the Bluejays in Raccoon River Conference baseball.

The Tigers (3-2-1) put two runs on the board in their first at-bat, then produced consecutive five-run frames to seize a 12-0 lead. The Jays (0-5) plated a run in the top of the fourth, but a final Tiger tally in the bottom of the frame ended the game early.

Avery Meister drove home Kato Dougan with a single, with Keghan West’s single the only other hit for the guests. Dougan walked twice and stole a base, with Juan Hernandez drawing a walk while Kaelin Davis was hit by a pitch.

West allowed five hits and four walks in two innings of work. He was touched for six runs (four earned) while striking out three and hitting one batter. Meister threw a frame of relief, surrendering seven runs (four earned) on four hits, a walk and two hit batsmen.

Alex Loew allowed a run on two hits in four stanzas for Carroll. He struck out five, walked two and hit one batter. Tory Feldman stuck out won and walked one in relief.

Perry is at Boone tonight and returns home to host Ogden Friday.
