An Adel man who ran from officers of the Adel Police Department July 1 in order to avoid warrant service was arrested Tuesday morning on another Adel warrant.
Eric Nathan Ranker, 41, of 2121 Greene St., Adel, was arrested on a warrant for littering and interference with official acts-bodily injury.
The July 1 incident began about 5:15 p.m., when Ranker was stopped by an Adel Police Department Officer in the 1200 block of Greene Street on a June 29 warrant for violation of a no-contact order.
When the officer told Ranker “to turn around and place his hands behind his back,” Ranker allegedly “immediately ran away from law enforcement, refusing to stop.”
In his flight from justice, Ranker also allegedly “did throw a plastic bag with a bottle of Paramount Peppermint Schnapps liquor in it into a yard.”
Ranker was apprehended in the ensuing chase and taken into custody July 1 without further incident.
An arrest warrant on the littering and interference with official acts-bodily injury complaints was issued Monday by the Dallas County District Court and served Tuesday by the Adel Police Department.
Ranker is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $300 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a pretrial conference Sept. 2 in Dallas County District Court.
