Anthony Charles Kennedy, 38, of Jefferson arrested on a Dallas County warrant Monday on charges of two counts of assault causing bodily injury or mental illness.

A Jefferson man was arrested Monday on a Dallas County warrant in connection with a July 26 incident in which he allegedly pepper sprayed two females in a Woodward residence.

Anthony Charles Kennedy, 38, of 802 W. Lincoln Way, Jefferson, was charged with two counts of assault causing bodily injury or mental illness.

The incident began about 1:45 a.m. July 26, when a Dallas County Deputy Sheriff responded to a report of assault in the 15700 block of Tanner Lane in Woodward.

According to court records, the female victims told the deputy “that they were arguing with” Kennedy when he “pepper sprayed both of them” before leaving the residence.

One of the victims was pepper sprayed in the eyes, according to court records, and she “had difficulty opening her eyes, and it was apparent that she was in pain.” The other victim “was pepper sprayed in the chin area, the neck and the arms.”

An arrest warrant was ordered July 27 and served to Kennedy Monday.

Kennedy is held in the Dallas County Jail in advance of an initial appearance in the Dallas County District Court.

Kennedy was convicted of first-offense domestic abuse assault in 2008 in Guthrie County District Court. He was convicted of second-offense domestic abuse assault in 2009 in Greene County District Court. He was convicted of third-offense domestic abuse assault in 2011 in Greene County District Court. He was convicted of assault on peace officers and others in 2014 in Greene County District Court.
