August 12, 2020
- A 1991 Gurmann, owed by the U.S. Post Office and operated by Reva Hidlebaugh of 2801 First Ave., Perry, collided with a 2016 Chevy Traverse, owned by Brenda Campos Molina of 2801 First Ave., Perry, and operated by Valentine Campos Herrera of 2801 First Ave., Perry, in the 2700 block of First Avenue. No injuries were reported. Hidlebaugh was issued a citation for unsafe start of a stopped vehicle, and Campos Herrera was issued a citation for driving without a valid driver’s license. Damage was estimated at $2,000.
- Officers responded to a report of harassment in the 1500 block of Fifth Street.
- A 2005 Ford, registered to Jessica Dawn Lewis of 516 Fifth St., Perry, and driven by Rusty Lee Curtis Lewis of 938 Pleasant View Dr., Des Moines, jumped a curb at W. Eighth and Lucinda streets. No injuries were reported. Curtis was issued a citation for no driver’s license and failure to provide insurance accident related. Damage was estimated at $5,000.
- Kenneth Wayne Mosher, 55, of 1110 Park St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of trespassing in the 1300 block of First Avenue.
August 13, 2020
- Officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle theft in the 2500 block of Park View Place.
- Officers responded to a report of a counterfeit bill in the 1200 block of Second Street.
- A 2011 Hyundi Sonata, registered to Steven Joseph Welch of 14162 Green Dr., Perry, and driven by Lexie Dawn Welch of 14162 Green Dr., Perry, collided with a 2007 Ford Ranger, registered to Marvin Gene Crabtree of 2110 Third St., Perry, and driven by Judith Loreen Crabtree of 2110 Third St., Perry, on Park Street. Welch was issued a citation for unsafe passing.
August 14, 2020
- Jacob Kenneth Morgan, 24, of 1807 Fifth St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of third-degree sexual abuse.
- Officers responded to a report of a domestic assault in the area of Fifth and Evelyn streets. The officers were not able to locate anything in the area.
August 15, 2020
- A 2017 Chevy Silverado pickup, registered to Alvaro Perez Cortes of 1802 Estella St., Perry, and driven by Jose Guadalupe Medina Sanchez of 518 Second St., Perry, collided with a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta, registered to Bretts Auto Body Service of Perry and driven by Kannen Carrick of 17 Orchard Lane, Dallas Center, near the intersection of Center and Second streets. No injuries were reported. Sanchez was issued a citation for n valid driver’s license.
August 16, 2020
- Officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 2500 block of Perry Park Avenue.
- Tamilee Kay Duff, 33, of 2506 Perry Park Ave., Perry, was arrested on a charge of first-offense domestic abuse assault.
- Melissa Lorraine Huff, 30, of 615 Emma Ave., Des Moines, was arrested on a charge of driving under suspension.
