The Perry City Council has designated Friday, Oct. 30 from 6-8 p.m. as Trick or Treat Night, also called Beggar’s Night.
Residents wishing to participate should turn porch lights on to attract the little spooks and goblins.
Masks are recommended for trick-or-treaters, their guardians and the householders giving away candy. Social distancing recommendations should also be followed.
If you are sick, please do not participate.
Follow safety guidelines set by the county, state and federal health departments, including trick-or-treat guidance from the Iowa Department of Public Health.
Other Halloween activities planned in Perry include the Perry Chamber of Commerce’s Spooktacular Trick-or-Treat walk in downtown Perry on Friday, Oct. 30 from 4-6 p.m.
**Let’s Stay Safe!** All Spooktacular participants are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings and maintain at least six feet between themselves and other groups of trick-or-treaters.
Willis Avenue from First Avenue to Third Street and Second Street from Otley Avenue to Pattee Street will be closed to vehicles for the event. Parking will be available in city parking lots and side streets. Spooks should enter at intersections and follow the designated one-way route through the downtown area.
