A Booneville couple were stopped for speeding Monday night on U.S. Interstate 80 and were allegedly found in possession of about one-half ounce of methamphetamine and 1.5 ounces of marijuana.
Bradley S. Farrow, 62, of 31101 Main St., Booneville, was charged with introducing contraband into a correctional facility, third or subsequent offense possession of methamphetamine, failure to affix a drug tax stamp-7 grams or more, third or subsequent offense possession of marijuana, failure to affix a drug tax stamp-42.5 grams or more and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sherri Deneen Rumelhart, 58, of 31101 Main St., Booneville, was charged with second-offense possession of methamphetamine, failure to affix a drug tax stamp-7 grams or more, second-offense possession of marijuana, failure to affix a drug tax stamp-42.5 grams or more and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The incident began about 10 p.m. Monday near the 103 mile marker of eastbound U.S. Interstate 80, where an Iowa State Patrol Trooper initiated a traffic stop on a speeding 2021 Mazda CX-5.
As the trooper spoke to the driver, Farrow, and the passenger, Rumelhart, the trooper could allegedly “smell the odor of raw marijuana emanating from the vehicle’s passenger compartment,” according to court records.
A probable-cause search was conducted of the vehicle and its occupants. The search disclosed about “14 grams of methamphetamine” and about “57 grams of raw marijuana and THC concentrates, three used marijuana pipes, and two used methamphetamine pipes” along with “a used marijuana pipe and clear plastic baggy of marijuana,” according to court records.
Rumelhart was allegedly found in possession of “two clear plastic baggies of methamphetamine concealed in her crotch, one clear plastic baggy of methamphetamine concealed in her right shoe, and a used methamphetamine pipe in her purse,” according to court records.
During the booking process at the Dallas County Jail, Farrow allegedly “dropped a used methamphetamine pipe from his underwear and was attempting to conceal it,” according to court records.
Farrow was held in the Dallas County Jail prior to his release on a $30,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Jan. 29 in Dallas County District Court.

Farrow was convicted of a controlled substance violation in 2000 in Polk County District Court. He was convicted of controlled substance violations in 2000, 2004 and 2008 in Warren County District Court. He was convicted of third or subsequent offense controlled substance violations in 2010, 2011 and 2013 in Polk County District Court.
