WOODWARD — Former Perry head coach Aaron Lyons has been hired to replace the resigned Brent Achenbach at the lead spot of the Woodward-Granger boys basketball program.
Lyons was 4-37 in two seasons at Perry, who has struggled with numbers and experience.
He steps in for Achenbach, who served two stints as the Hawk head coach. He led the team from 2004-2006 and than from 2016-2021. W-G was 91-91 overall in his eight total years and reached the state tournament in 2019.
