
STUART — Woodward-Granger strolled to a season-opening 3-0 win over host West Central Valley in WCAC volleyball action Thursday.
The Hawks swept to the win behind scores of 25-12, 25-18, and 25-20.
Brayten Ashman and Audrey Simmons had six kills apiece for W-G, with Grace Deputy adding five kills, Samantha Volz four and Lindsey Mescher two. Simmons finished with eight assists, with Volz adding seven, as did Darby Nixon.
Nixon had a team-best 13 digs, with Ashman and Simmons each making 11 digs while Mescher had 10. Volz added three digs and Deputy one.
Deputy was 16-of-17 serving with five aces, with Mescher 16-17-2 and Volz 12-13-2. Ashman was 9-11-4 behind the line, with Simmons 7-9-1 and Nixon 5-8-1.
