WOODWARD — The five ladies and five gentlemen in contention for royal status at Woodward-Granger high school were revealed recently as the Hawks prepare for Homecoming 2021.

Brayten Ashman, Makenzie Dresback, Katie Grell, Riam Jamison, and Darby Nixon are the quintet from which the queen will be crowned, with the king to be selected from among Don David, Paden Drake, Lucas Hansen, Sam Pitman, and Tjaden Smeltzer.

The winners will be crowned Thursday in the W-G gym at 7:30 p.m. The theme for Homecoming 2021 is “A Little Bit Country.”

Wednesday will have a “Country Roads” theme while Friday is “Hawk Spirit” day.

In between comes “Class Color” day, with students wearing a specific color Thursday.

Seniors will wear black, juniors blue, sophomores white and freshmen pink. Grade eight students are to wear yellow, grade seven red and grade six orange.

The elementary school will take part as well, with grade five in purple, grade four in blue, grade three in green and grade two in yellow. First graders will wear orange, kindergarten students red, and pre-k children black.

W-G hosts South Hamilton at 7 p.m. for their Homecoming game, a Class 1A District 2 battle. The host Hawks are 3-1 overall and 1-0 in D2 play, with the visiting Hawks 2-2 overall and also 1-0 in district action.
