Bondurant-Farrar seized control early in game one and never faltered in coasting to a 3-0 win over host Perry in Raccoon River Conference volleyball Tuesday.
The Lady Jays (7-4, 3-0) raced to leads of 10-2 and 12-4 in the opening set before posting a 25-13 win. A second 25-13 triumph followed, with the visitors closing out the match with a 25-11 win in game three.
Perry (7-12, 0-3) was their own worst enemy during several stretches in the match, with missed serves, an unusually high number of hitting errors and errant passes hampering any chance to stay even in any of the games.

“Pretty simple, really,” head coach Kristel Schultz said. “We have to get out passes to the net and be disciplined by keeping the ball ‘in’ on attacks instead of just loading it up and hitting it where their people are or swinging right into blocks or ripping it long.”
Schultz was exasperated by miscues she said the team had worked repeatedly on avoiding in recent practices.
“I don’t think it is a lack of effort so much as it is a lack of confidence,” she said. “We are not showing the all-around discipline I believe we can have.
“I think we might have to change some things up if we are not going to do what we have worked on and what I have asked them to do,” Schultz said. “If we are not going to do those things then I will find six players who will do what we I have asked them to do.”
Four kills from Ellie Nielsen led Perry, with Taylor Lathrum adding three kills and Jo Diw and Grace Marburger two kills apiece. Lathrum and Victoria Hegstrom each had one block, with Sidney Vancil tallying eight assists.
Nielsen had seven digs, Marburger four and Diw three, with Vancil serving 6-of-6 with two aces. Lathrum was 7-of-8 and Marburger 6-of-6 behind the line, with Hegstron 4-5-2 and Nielsen 4-4-1.
Perry will have a week to prepare for their next match, a trip to Carroll for a RRC battle September 29.
