Panthers win two of three on the mat

PANORA, Iowa — Host Panorama was 45-30 winner over Lynnville-Sully and a 57-18 victor against East Union Thursday, with Pleasantville slipping past their hosts, 46-27.

Pleasantville defeated East Union, 65-18, and Lynnville-Sully 58-24, with East Union nipping L-S, 36-33, in the other matches.

Cayden Van Meer finished 3-0 with two pins and a decision  at 138 to lead Panorama. Tage Monahan finished 3-0 at 113 with two pins and a forfeit, with James Hein 3-0 with two pins and a forfeit at 182 while Cooper Andersen had a pin and two forfeits to finish 3-0 at 220.

Laine Christe (106), Landon Kirtley (120), Will Knapp (126) were all 2-1 with one forfeit, with Christe and Kirtley both scoring wins by fall while Knapp’s other win was a 7-4 decision. Issac Monroy-Nunez (285) was also 2-1, with both wins coming from forfeits.

Maddox Nunn (132) was 1-2 with a pin, with Landon Goodenberger 1-1 with an 18-5 major decision at 160. The Panthers had left 160 open against L-S.

Emmett King received a forfeit in finishing 1-2 at 152, with Keyton VanGundy unable to score a win in three matches at 170. Panorama left 145 and 195 open against all three foes.

Panorama will return to action Saturday at the AC/GC Invitational.
