A West Des Moines man was arrested on a Dallas County warrant Tuesday in connection with an incident two weeks ago in which he allegedly sexually molested a 9-year-old girl.
Dakota Daniel Stevens, 34, of 860 S. 68th St., West Des Moines, was charged with second-degree sexual abuse-child under 12.
According to court records, between Feb. 28 and March 1, Stevens “did unlawfully touch and fondle” the child while she “laid in the same bed with” Stevens.
A warrant for Stevens’ arrest was ordered March 11 in Dallas County District Court and served March 15. Stevens is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $25,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing March 25 in Dallas County District Court.
Stevens was convicted of domestic abuse assault in 2009 in Webster County District Court.
