Kathy Francke, 69, of Des Moines passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022, at the Manor Care in West Des Moines, Iowa.
Graveside services will be held at a later date.
Kathy Anne Franke was born April 26, 1952, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Philip R. and Gloria June (Gibbs) Francke.
She graduated from Urbandale High School in 1970.
After graduation, Kathy worked for Allied Insurance before moving to the St. Petersburg, Florida, area. She lived in Florida until relocating back to Des Moines in 1999.
Kathy loved cats and cared for many of them over the years. She especially loved her cat named Ziggy.
Kathy was also an avid Tampa Bay Buccaneer fan. She attended many home games while she lived in Florida.
Survivors include two brothers, Philip Michael Francke of Waukee and Peter Francke of Des Moines; one sister, Patricia (Barry) Bengtson of Perry; and several nephews.
Preceding Kathy in death were her parents; and one sister, Lisa Lohr.
Memorials in Kathy’s name will be directed to Raccoon River Pet Rescue. Condolences to the family may be mailed to Murdock Funeral Home in Perry.
