A large yellow Labrador retriever named Yeller escaped from his fenced yard March 26 in De Soto and has eluded capture since he was last seen Tuesday north of Earlham.
“My fiancé and I looked when we made it back home but with no success,” said Yeller’s owner. “We have had the help of AHeinz57 teams and so many kind community members, but he hasn’t been seen in days.”
Yeller was last seen about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, running in a ditch north of the 104 exit of U.S. Interstate 80.
“That puts him at two-ish miles a day in his wandering,” his owner said. “At this point, he could be anywhere, and we just need a sighting. He is a smart dog, and we believe he is still alive out there somewhere. We just need the community’s help in sighting him and watching to see if he wanders onto their land.”
Yeller is wearing a red collar, is microchipped and has a short/oddly docked tail, his owner said. Anyone seeing Yeller is asked to call 515-338-0085.
