

ADEL, Iowa — The Dallas County Auditor’s office at 210 N. 10th St. in Adel will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, May 23 for voters who wish to pre-register for the June 7 primary election.
Voters who register after May 23 or on election day at the polls will need to show proof of residence and proof of identity. Proof of residency must be current within the last 45 days.
Proof of residency can be accomplished by means of one of the following documents:
- Property tax statement
- Utility bill
- Bank Statement
- Paycheck
- Other government document
Acceptable proofs of identification must contain a photo:
- An Iowa driver’s license
- Out-of-state driver’s license
- Non-driver identification card
- US passport
- Veteran ID
Absentee ballots may also be cast in person at the auditor’s office during the office’s regular hours, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. until Monday, June 6 at 5 p.m.
Monday, May 23 is also the deadline to submit a request for a mailed absentee ballot. In order for your ballot to count, it must be returned by the close of polls on election day, that is, by 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7.
