An Adel man was arrested Sunday night after he allegedly pulled his wife’s hair and scratched her neck in the course of a domestic dispute.
Brian Keith Jackson, 48, of 1734 S. 11th St., Adel, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.
The incident began about 7:30 p.m. Monday in the 1700 block of 11th Street, where officers of the Adel Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
The victim told the officers that Jackson allegedly “pulled her hair, and she went to the ground inside the residence, and her husband caused the scratches,” according to court records.
The officers observed on the victim “fresh scratch marks on her neck,” and “part of” Jackson’s “finger nail” was “found in” the victim’s “hair,” according to court records.
A minor child who witnessed the incident told the officers that Jackson “started the altercation,” according to court records. The child allegedly saw Jackson pull the victim’s hair.
Jackson is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
