A Waukee man was arrested early Tuesday after allegedly assaulting a Waukee woman in a motel.

Seth Travis Farnsley, 48, of 2885 Grand Prairie Parkway, Waukee, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

The incident began about 3 a.m. Tuesday in the 2800 block of Grand Prairie Parkway, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The officers made contact with the victim, who said that Farnsley allegedly “had been throwing her around,” according to court records.

The victim told the officers that Farnsley allegedly “pushed her up against a window, causing her pain in her jaw,” and “pushed her to the ground and was kneeling on her,” according to court records.

The officers observed on the victim “red marks and scrapes on her back/shoulder area,” according to court records.

Farnsley is held in the Jail County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Sept. 9 in Dallas County District Court.
