Funeral services for Edita De Alvarenga, 72, of Des Moines will be 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10 at the Iglesia Bautista Hispana Ebenezer in Perry. Burial will follow at Violet Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9 at the Murdock Funeral Home.
Edita passed away Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022, at the MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Edita Melida Romero was born Oct. 8, 1949, in Santa Rita, Chalatenango, El Salvador. She was the daughter of Pascual and Romelia Reina Romero Gutierres.
Edita moved to the U.S. and received her permanent residency on Oct. 4, 2005.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Abel Alvarenga Orellana of Des Moines; a son, Juan Alvarenga of Perry; along with other immediate family members and extended family.
Murdock Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
