Homecoming 2020 will be next week at Perry High School, with the candidates for king and queen officially revealed today.
Taylor Atwell, Cloe Nance, Lydia Olejniczak, Yamilet Ortega, and Sarai Ramos are the quintet vying for queen honors, with Fithawi Andemichael, Anthony Chavez, Jonathan Chavez, Jefry Gonzalez, and Kyle Hernandez the five young men from who the king will be chosen.
A series of activities will accompany the celebration of Homecoming next week at Perry schools, with the high school students having their annual Volunteer Day Wednesday.
The annual parade will lineup at the PHS parking lot at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and process down Willis Avenue beginning at 6 p.m. Coronation will be held at the PHS gym at 8 p.m.
Perry will host Des Moines Hoover at Dewey Field Friday for the Homecoming Game. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. The Huskies stopped Perry on the final play of the game last year, denying a possible two-yard touchdown run by mere inches to escape with a 14-9 win.
