An Adel man was arrested Saturday after allegedly strangling an Adel woman.
Scott Edwin Griggs, 61, of 903 1/2 Main St., Adel, was charged with domestic abuse assault-impeding flow of air/blood.
The incident began about 6:45 p.m. Saturday in the 900 block of Main Street, where Griggs allegedly “did grab the victim by the throat and neck area and shove her against a fence,” according to court records.
Officers of the Adel Police Department observed on the victim “red marks on her chest and neck” that were “consistent with the alleged assault,” according to court records.
A witness to the incident alleged that Griggs “had the victim by the throat,” and she was “shoved against the fence,” according to court records.
Griggs is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
