Logan Patrick Stripe, 28, of Waukee, was arrested Friday on charges of assault causing serious injury and trespassing.

A Waukee man was arrested Friday on a Dallas County warrant in connection with a September incident in which he allegedly struck an apartment house handyman in the head with skateboard.

Logan Patrick Stripe, 38, of 700 Ashworth Dr., Waukee, was charged with assault causing serious injury and trespassing.

The incident occurred about 8:45 p.m. Sept. 26 at 75 S.E. Windfield Parkway in Waukee, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of an assault.

The officers made contact with the victim, a maintenance employee for the Windfield apartment complex, whom they found “holding a cloth rag against his left ear,” according to court records.

The officers observed on the victim “a laceration, approximately 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch
on the cartilage on the back of his ear” and found the “ear to be separated where the laceration was observed,” according to court records.

The victim told the officers that Stripe “approached him” and began “asking him about a saw.” When the victim told Stripe “that he did not know anything about” Stripe’s saw, Stripe allegedly “without warning” struck the victim “in the left side of the head with his skateboard,” according to court records.

The victim told the officers that he recognized Stripe as a former tenant of the apartment complex, and “multiple witnesses on scene identified” Stripe as the alleged assailant, according to court records. Stripe was served a no-trespass order for the property July 14, 2022.

Stripe fled the scene prior to officers arrival, and a warrant for his arrest was ordered Sept. 27 in Dallas County District Court and served Friday.

Stripe was held in the Dallas County Jail prior to an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court. He is scheduled for arraignment Nov. 18 in Dallas County District Court.

Stripe was convicted of assault in 2019 in Boone County District Court.
