David Bodean Bunney, 37, of 1040 Collins Dr., Waukee, was charged with domestic abuse assault-impeding air/blood flow and child endangerment.
The incident began about 11:30 p.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of Collins Drive, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that Bunney “grabbed her by the neck, blocking her airflow,” according to court records.
The officers made contact with Bunney, who told the officers that the victim “took the baby” during the course of a domestic dispute, and Bunney “wanted the baby back so he grabbed” the victim “by the neck,” according to court records.
Bunney told the officers that when the victim “fought back by hitting” Bunney “in the face, causing small cuts on his face, and biting his wrist, which also left small cuts,” Bunney began “squeezing harder around the neck” while the victim was “holding the baby,” according to court records.
Bunney was held in the Dallas County Jail in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
