A Minburn man with 10 prior convictions for assault was arrested for assault Wednesday morning after allegedly kicking and choking a Minburn woman and slamming her against a wall.
Loren Patrick Cramblit, 45, of 722 Chestnut St., Minburn, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.
The incident began about 8 a.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of Chestnut Street, where a Dallas County Deputy Sheriff conducted a welfare check at the request of a caller.
The deputy made contact with the victim, who told the deputy that during a domestic dispute on Tuesday night, Cramblit allegedly “came up from behind and put” the victim “in a choke hold and then threw her against the counter, which produced a bruise on her right side of her pelvis,” according to court records.
The deputy observed “a dark blue and black bruise, larger than the size of my hand, on” the victim, according to court records.
The victim also told the deputy that Cramblit allegedly “kicked her on her leg, causing another bruise to be produced,” and he “grabbed her by both arms and pushed her against the wall,” according to court records.
The deputy observed “several different areas” on the victim where “bruises and injuries” were visible, according to court records.
Cramblit was held in the Dallas County Jail in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
