A Waukee man was arrested Friday after allegedly assaulting a West Des Moines man who was arguing with his brother.
Jesus Misael Arciniega Garcia, 22, 600 N.E. Alice’s Road, Waukee, was charged with assault causing bodily injury and first-degree harassment.
The incident began Friday about 3:45 a.m. in the 600 block of N.E. Alice’s Road, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
The officers made contact with the victim, whom they found “with blood running from his mouth and complaints of his jaw being completely numb/hurting,” according to court records.
The victim told the officers that he was arguing with Arciniega Garcia’s brother when Arciniega Garcia “kicked him in the mouth, hit him in the right side of the jaw with a glass bottle and was chocking him,” according to court records.
While the officers were speaking with the victim, Arciniega Garcia allegedly called the victim’s cell phone “and threatened to kill him, stating, ‘If I want, I will kill you. I don’t need help from anyone,'” according to court records.
The officers observed blood on Arciniega Garcia’s foot, and “the blood was believed to be from” the victim’s “mouth when he was kicked.” Arciniega Garcia “admitted to kicking” the victim “in the face,” according to court records.
Arciniega Garcia was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing July 5 in Dallas County District Court.
