June 22, 2023
- Jennifer Haaland of Adel was traveling in the 29000 block of R Avenue when she slowed for a vehicle in front of her, and her vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle, driven by Victoria Dawson of Guthrie Center. No injuries were reported. Damage to Haaland’s vehicle was estimated at $2,000, and damage to Dawson’s vehicle was estimated at $1,500. Dawson was issued a citation for failure to stop in assured clear distance.
June 23, 2023
- Heather Banda, 46, of Jamaica was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of OWI.
- Sydney Dixon, 26, of 3307 50th St., Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of possession of a controlled substance.
- Hugo Contreras Campos, 43, of 3848 14th St. Trail, Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving while suspended.
- Traci Llamas, 30, of 220 S. 10th St., Adel, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation.
June 24, 2023
- Ryan Carpenter, 33, of 4708 Steinbeck St., Ames, was arrested for OWI.
- Raymond Stoecker of Le Center, Minnesota, was arrested for OWI and issued a citation for reckless driving and no valid driver’s license.
- Steven Amaro of Saint Cloud, Minnesota, was traveling on U.S. Interstate 80 near the 111 mile marker when his semi-tractor trailer was struck by a vehicle, driven by Hope Berry of Morrison, Colorado. No injuries were reported. Damage to Amaro’s vehicle was estimated at $1,000, and damage to Berry’s vehicle was estimated at $12,500.
- Brian Hoffman of Bayard was traveling in the 22000 block of Iowa Highway 141 when his vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $10,000.
June 25, 2023
- James Funke, 38, of 9584 Davis Dr., West Des Moines, was arrested for OWI and issued a citation for speeding.
- Gabriel Pratt, 50, of 202 Third St. S.E., Altoona, was arrested for violation of a no-contact order and possession of a controlled substance.
- George Manvelidze of Bardonia, N.Y., was traveling on U.S. Interstate 80 near the 99 mile marker when his vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $2,000.
- Patricia Stevens of Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, was traveling on U.S. Interstate 80 near the 110 mile marker when another vehicle tried to merge into her lane, causing Stevens’ vehicle to veer off the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to Stevens’ vehicle was estimated at $15,000.
