Kathleen Linn, 94, of Grand Junction passed away Monday, July 24, 2023, at her home with her daughters at her side in Grand Junction, Iowa.
A private graveside service will be held at the Rippey Cemetery, with a celebration of her life held at the Rippey United Methodist Church on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 12 p.m.
Kathleen was born Dec. 11, 1928, in Rippey, Iowa, to John and Gertrude M. (Garvin) Andrews.
She graduated from Rippey Consolidated School.
Kathleen was united in marriage to Myron “Mike” Linn at her sister’s home on Sep. 22, 1948. To this union three children were born, Daniel, Peggy and Rebecca.
Kathleen was a cook at the Rippey Consolidated Schools from 1968 to 1994. After retirement, she volunteered with the Foster Grandparent program for several years.
She took several cruises with Mike and her brother and sister.
Kathleen was a member of the Rippey United Methodist Church.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren on the weekends and cooking a large meal for everyone. She enjoyed gardening, embroidery, being a farm wife, always had a dog, and going to the “Tea Room.”
In death she rejoins her parents, John and Gertrude Andrews; husband, Mike; son, Dan Linn, and his wife, Val; grandson, Jason Whelchel; brothers, David Andrews, Raymond Andrews and Jack Andrews; and a sister, Verna Roberts.
Left to cherish Kathleen’s memory are her daughters, Peggy Wells of Grand Junction and Rebecca “Becky” Linn of Dana, Iowa; grandchildren, Jeremy Whelchel, Jarrod Whelchel, Jennifer Whitney, Shane Jewett, Ian Jewett, Amanda Jewett Mitchell, Scott Linn, Sarah Linn Gallardo, John Linn and Leslie Linn; step-grandchild, Jill Witte; 31 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
